MODENAS Showcases Kawasaki Jet Ski Potential in Langkawi’s Marine Tourism Segment

Langkawi’s position as one of Malaysia’s most active island tourism destinations made it a suitable setting for MODENAS to showcase the potential of Kawasaki Jet Ski personal watercraft in a real-world marine environment.

Through the Fleet Engagement Day – Personal Watercraft (PWC), held at Pantai Cenang, Langkawi from 12 to 13 May 2026, MODENAS provided selected participants with the opportunity to experience Kawasaki Jet Ski models more closely, particularly in conditions that reflect actual commercial and tourism-related usage.

The event focused on engaging key stakeholders within the marine recreation ecosystem, including jet ski operators, fleet owners, tourism players and relevant agencies. Rather than being a conventional product display, the session was designed as an experiential platform where participants could better understand the performance, stability, comfort and practical suitability of Kawasaki Jet Ski products.

Langkawi was chosen because of its strong water tourism ecosystem, active beach activities and established demand for personal watercraft usage. The island also offers operating conditions that are highly relevant to the PWC segment, including open-sea surroundings, changing wave conditions, high tourist movement and frequent usage by first-time or beginner riders.

For operators, especially those involved in rentals, guided tours and resort activities, the key consideration is not only speed or performance. Product stability, easy handling, durability, fuel capacity, maintenance needs and after-sales support are equally important, as these factors directly affect daily operations and customer confidence.

Among the models featured during the session were the Kawasaki STX 160, Ultra 160LX-S and Ultra 310LX. Each model represents a different usage profile, from entry-level rental operations to touring, comfort-focused use and higher-performance applications.

The STX 160 is positioned as a practical model for rental and high-volume usage, supported by its 1,498cc naturally aspirated engine, comfortable riding position, large storage capacity and beginner-friendly handling. For operators who prioritise reliability and daily usability, this model offers a balance between performance and operational practicality.

The Ultra 160LX-S caters to users and operators looking for a more comfortable touring experience, with a larger platform, stable hull design and comfort-oriented features. Meanwhile, the Ultra 310LX represents the premium performance side of the Kawasaki Jet Ski range, offering stronger acceleration and higher-end features for selected advanced or premium applications.

The Langkawi session also gave MODENAS an opportunity to better understand market expectations from commercial users. In a tourism-driven environment, personal watercraft must be suitable not only for experienced riders, but also for beginners and tourists who may be using the product for the first time. This makes stability, predictable handling and operator confidence especially important.

For MODENAS, the initiative reflects a wider effort to strengthen Kawasaki’s presence beyond motorcycles and into the marine recreation segment. It also supports the company’s aim to build closer engagement with tourism operators, fleet customers and institutional users who require dependable marine mobility products.

The event also highlights Langkawi’s potential as a key market for personal watercraft operations in Malaysia. With its combination of tourism demand, resort activity and marine recreation services, the island provides a practical environment to assess how Kawasaki Jet Ski products can support commercial operators and enhance the overall customer experience.

Overall, the Fleet Engagement Day – PWC positions Kawasaki Jet Ski as a performance-oriented yet practical personal watercraft option for Malaysia’s marine tourism and commercial recreation sector, with Langkawi serving as a relevant platform to demonstrate its suitability in real operating conditions.
