Recognition underscores MODENAS’ commitment to sustainability, responsible manufacturing and operational excellence.

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 OCTOBER 2026 – Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (MODENAS), a member of the DRB-HICOM Group, has won the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Excellence Award at the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri (AKI) 2026, organised by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

MODENAS was also recognised among the top three in the Manufacturing Sector Excellence Award category, underscoring its commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement and sustainable industrial development.

The ESG recognition reflects MODENAS' efforts to integrate environmental responsibility, social development and governance practices into its manufacturing operations and long-term business strategy.

Among its key initiatives is a 1.249-megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar installation at its Gurun manufacturing facility, comprising 2,315 photovoltaic modules. MODENAS reported a renewable energy mix of 57% as of May 2026, supporting its Net-Zero Roadmap towards 2050.

The company has also contributed to sustainable mobility through the deployment of 1,232 MEV-1 Pro electric motorcycles in collaboration with Pos Malaysia, alongside technical and vocational education and training (TVET) initiatives to strengthen local capabilities in electric vehicle technology.

In promoting road safety, the MODENAS Safety Riding Academy has conducted 154 programmes, benefiting 3,310 participants since 2018.
